Top Ten: Best Dog Food to Feed your dog: Part 2

We are back again because there is so much dog food on the market. Think about it. There's popular brands such as Purina, Pedigree, Blue, Ol' Roy, Diamond, Iams, Gravy Train, and many others. But, once again, how good are some of these brands of food? I've searched the Chewy website, the Walmart website, and even the Petco website and gathered different brands and compared them. And I found some pretty good ones.

#10: Nutro Natural Choice

ree

To begin with, the first ingredient is chicken, meaning that chicken is the main source of protein along with dried peas, a legume that also has protein, It also has brown rice which is easy to digest as a grain and chicken fat. For fatty acids, it features flaxseed and chia seeds. Nutro does "Feed Clean"

#9: Rachael Ray's Nutrish Peak

ree

This food has some interesting but healthy ingredients such as sunflower oil, dried whole potato, tapioca, natural pork flavor, and pea starch. And it has seven sources of animal proteins which include beef, chicken meal, chicken fat, beef and bone meal, fish, venison, and lamb. And, beef is the first ingredient.

#8: Pure Balance

ree

Pure Balance has ingredients such as chicken as the first ingredient and dried peas. This food is grain-free so it is easy to digest an doesn't have wheat, soy, or corn. HOWEVER, many people do NOT trust this food because it is a Wal-Mart brand. They claimed that this food caused their dog to be lethargic. Foods affect dogs different than others, just like humans.

#7: Gentle Giants

ree

This food is claimed to help larger dogs such as Great Danes, Irish Wolfhounds, Newfoundlands, and so on to outlive their normal 5-6 year lifespan and make it into their teen years and beyond. However, there is no proof of this besides pictures. But, the food is good and healthy though and it helps find large dogs homes with every purchase. It also helps picky dogs eat more.

#6: Nature's Recipe

ree

This food has chicken meal, which has around %300 percent more protein than regular chicken and it also has oatmeal, which is rich in vitamin B. It also has poultry fat, which has omega-6 fatty acid. This is a great food to feed.

#5: Freshpet rolls

ree

Let's take a quick break from dry foods and look at this store-sold fresh food. Freshpet is food for dogs that is fresh. It has beef and chicken as the first ingredients and beef liver and beef broth. A lot of beef for being a Tender Chicken Recipe. It has fresh vegetables such as carrots and peas. It also has other fresh ingredients such as eggs and brown rice. However it has carrageenan, which is extracted from seaweed and used to hold this food together. Many people claim that this isn't healthy for a dog, even though it has chelated minerals. A downside about this food is that it must be kept refrigerated or it will spoil.

#4: I and Love and You Naked Essentials

ree

What a long and silly name. This food has lamb as the first ingredient and chicken meal as the second. This food also has garbanzo beans, flaxseed, bison meat, dried sweet potatoes, fish oil, dried chicory root, and other naturally sourced ingredients.

#3: Crave

ree

This food is probably one of the best out there. It has no grains and has salmon, chicken meal, and chickpeas as the first three ingredients, all a source of protein. Chicken fat, pork meal and dried potatoes are the next. Selenium yeast is included instead of regular yeast because regular yeast can cause cancer.

#2: Chicken Soup for the Soul

ree

Either named after the books or the books is named after the dog food, this food has chicken, turkey, chicken meal and turkey meal as the first four ingredients. Brown rice, peas, oatmeal, cracked pearled barley, faba beans, and lentils are more natural ingredients. Lamb and duck are other sources of protein. Fresh fruits and vegetables such as apples, carrots, tomatoes, blueberries, cranberries, and spinach are also included. I've look through the comments of this food and many claimed that their senior dogs re full of energy.

#1: Wellness Simple

ree

Deboned turkey, turkey meal, potooes, peas, dried whole potoates, ground flaxseed, canola oil, and turkey flavor make up the first ingredients. Many pet owners claimed that this food helped stop their pets from itching. "I started feeding my dogs Wellness Simple's salmon formula about 9 months ago. I made the switch because my 12 year old coonhound was scratching her neck raw due to allergies. My vet put her on Apoquel, which took the edge off, but didn't resolve the issue. Since making the switch to Simple, she doesn't scratch anymore and her coat is thicker than ever." -Chris Wong, a dog owner.
