What is the best brand of food to feed my dog? What do you mean by 'best'? Like healthy best, safest best, cheapest best, active best, best for old dogs....the list could go on forever! Luckily, I've made a list of the dog food that fits all of these, so you can have a food that is healthy, safe, cheap, active, and is good for old dogs!

Merrick is a good dog food because it is grain-free, meaning it has none of the fillers such as corn or wheat. Instead, it uses healthy fillers such as sweet potatoes, blueberries, peas, and apples. It also features deboned beef as the first ingredient and lamb as the second. It has acids such as Omega 6 and Omega 3, which helps reduce joint swelling and helps the dog stay mobile, even in the later years in life.

This is probally the best out of all of Purina' s products. It has chicken as the first ingrediant, unlike other Purina products which has chicken-by products. And rare in foods, it has beef fat, or tallow, which doesn't sound tasty but is very good for a dog. However, this food has a lot of grains, but none of them is corn.

Royal Canin is ranked as a very good food because they have a large team of experts that test and trial the foods. If you have a dog that needs a breed-specific food, Royal Canin has twenty-seven breeds to choose from! However, chicken-by product is the main source of protein, so beware.
